A native of Eclectic, Alabama, Charlotte felt she was called into Full-Time ministry. While seeking God’s will in her life she attended college with a double major of Vocal Music and Psychology. During her college years, she served as a Summer Missionary in Arizona, went on many mission trips all through the southeast USA, British Isles and Haiti. After marrying her sweetheart, Dru Mattox, they traveled as a team as Music Evangelist singing wherever the Lord opened the doors.
After their two sons, Brett and Aaron, began school, Dru and Charlotte felt led to be home more and to serve in the local church to allow their sons to be part of the local church. On few occasions, they continued to sing in conferences and Revivals.
God opened the door for Dru to serve as a Music-Worship/Youth/Associate pastor and for Charlotte to serve Him as a life-style and sometimes undercover missionary as a teller at First National Bank, an educator at Eclectic Elementary and Alexander City schools, as well as serving as the Resident Services/Public Relations/Family Self-Sufficiency Coordinator with the Housing Authority.
Recently, Charlotte retired after serving 27 years with the school/state system in October, 2024. Thinking she would be free from the work-place, God opened another door for Charlotte to serve as the Executive Ministry Assistant at Tallapoosa Baptist Association as of November, 2024.
A lesson learned, just when you make your mind up, God changes it for His best. Charlotte’s desire is to be a moon for Jesus, to reflect His love and to be an encouragement for those who need it.
“Let your light shine, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
