EQUIPPING CHURCHES TO EXPAND GOD'S KINGDOM

CORE VALUE 1 - Cooperating Through Teamwork

Definition:  We believe that every church is strengthened when leaders work together and churches partner with one another to accomplish more together than they could do alone.  Therefore we will equip churches and leaders to:

  • Pray together as a team
  • Monthly Prayer Meetings alternating sides of the lake
  • Plan, prepare, and set goals
  • Associational Dream Teams
  • Specific teams with qualified members specific to the team
  • Team develops timeline and the who, what, when, and where of the goal
  • Progress always and focus on the mission
  • Being held accountable to stay focused on the timeline to bring the goal to fruition

Scriptures verses:

Acts 2:44  -
“And all that believed were together, and had all things common.” (KJV
“Now all the believers were together and held all things in common.” (HCSB)

Colossians 3:23
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.” (KJV)
“Whatever you do, do it enthusiastically,as something done for the Lord and not for men.”(HCSB)

CORE VALUE 2 – Equipping for Service

Definition: We believe our association has the most impact for Christ when we equip churches for ministry so they have tools to serve.  Therefore we will equip churches and leaders as we:

  • Offer training for evangelism and outreach opportunities
    • Provide qualified instructors for training
    • Offer various learning opportunities
      • For example: Deacon Training, Sunday School Leadership Training, Worship Training, VBS Training, Key Leader Training
  • Provide ministry resources for churches
    • Survey churches to discover their needs
    • Offer leadership training and conferences
    • Promote ministry resources available through the Association and State Board of Missions
  • Assist churches by uniting in fellowship and serving together
    • Provide opportunities for cooperative service
      • For example: Associational Revival services, County-wide Service Day (Splash), Disaster relief training
    • Develop a network where churches and leaders share information

Scripture verses:

Ephesians 4:12
“For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” (KJV)
“For the training of the saints in the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ.”(HCSB)

Psalm 32:8
“I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.”(KJV)
“I will instruct you and show you the way to go;with my eye on you, I will give counsel.”(HCSB)

CORE VALUE 3 – Encouraging through Relationships

Definition – We believe personal relationships are crucial to fulfilling our mission.  Therefore we will foster an attitude of trust with ministers, their families and the churches as we:

  • Support, encourage, and assist ministers and their families
  • Encourage a ministers’ wives fellowship, bivocational ministers and wives fellowship, and a retreat for ministers’ children
  • Provide guidance to churches seeking help
  • Understand the needs and work with the pastor and people of the church
  • Compile a list of resources for various needs
  • Encourage churches to help and partner with one another
  • Encourage corporate worship services
  • Share talents from one church to another
  • Plan various ministries such as, but not limited to, men’s ministry events, ladies’ ministry events, couples’ retreat, and camp.
  • Provide a resource center and a list of resources that churches have available to share with other churches

Scripture verses:

I Corinthians 12:25-26
“That there should be no schismin the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.”(KJV)
“So that there would be no division in the body, but that the members would have the same concern for each other. So if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.”(HCSB)

Philippians 2:3
“Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.” (KJV)
Do nothing out of rivalry or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves.”(HCSB)
